GOLFWEEK MAGAZINE AGAIN NAMES SOUTHERN HILLS GOLF COURSE AMONG BEST
Brooksville, Fla. – For the second year in a row, the acclaimed Pete Dye championship golf course at Southern Hills Plantation Club has been named to two of “Golfweek’s Best” lists. Golfweek magazine has ranked the course among the nation’s top 50 best new courses and the top 100 best residential courses for 2007.

“Southern Hills Plantation Club looks and feels like a golf course that has been there a long time,” said Bradley S. Klein, Golfweek’s Best Courses program director and architecture editor. “The corridors are generous, the mature trees framing the holes give it a sense of well-established presence, and the relaxed land plan with homes set back from the lines of play allow you to enjoy Pete Dye’s work without feeling like you’re intruding in someone’s back yard.”

To request more information about the golf course, membership or residences at Southern Hills Plantation Club, visit www.sohilly.com or call (888) SO-HILLY.

AWARDS STACK UP FOR HIDDEN LAKE
Raleigh, N.C. – Hidden Lake, near the charming town of Wake Forest, is receiving the prestigious “Green Project of the Year” award from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) this week. Crescent representatives will accept the honor at a ceremony in New Orleans. The land plan, designed to make a minimal impact on the existing environment, garnered the recognition of the NAHB. Development of the community, along with the ongoing environmental education for homeowners and existing natural amenities, make Hidden Lake a “natural” fit for this award.

One of the members of Hidden Lake’s Builder Guild, Bost Custom Homes, is equally committed to the community’s environmental effort. Bost received the “Best Gold-Level Green-Built Home” award at the 2008 Major Achievements in Marketing Excellence (MAME) awards for his “Casa Lucca” home at Hidden Lake.

LONGFIELD STABLES NOW OPEN AT PALMETTO BLUFF
Bluffton, S.C. – Construction of Palmetto Bluff’s equestrian facility is now complete. The Longfield Stables’ opening celebration on April 19 featured riding demonstrations, equine health seminars, a silent auction benefiting Heroes on Horseback and barn tours throughout the day.

The facility is stunning. But more importantly, it is functional, allowing for proper horse husbandry, a primary goal of Longfield Stables. Each barn has been designed for proper ventilation and airflow, while the grooming and wash stalls have been equally well planned, providing a safe and easy traffic flow. In addition, management has taken extraordinary measures to promote the health of Longfield's pastures and paddocks by setting aside the proper amount of acreage and establishing a maintenance program to promote high-quality grasses for the horses to enjoy.

Adjacent to the Stables is Longfield Farms, a private rural neighborhood featuring farm-like properties ranging from 3 to 15 acres, all within close proximity to Wilson Village. Four-board black fencing frames each site, many of which feature expansive views of Longfield Stables' cross-country equestrian area and freshwater lakes. The larger properties will accommodate private barns and pastures with some tracts bordering the protected managed forest.

BALD EAGLES LAND AT GRAND HAVEN
Palm Coast, Fla. – The newest residents of Grand Haven aren't your average neighbors. We wouldn't recommend bringing cookies to their home, but we do strongly encourage you to take a walk over to the dog park in Wild Oaks to see what all the excitement is about. A pair of bald eagles has nested in one of the trees and is rearing an eaglet that is sure to be testing its wings very soon.

Some residents have made it part of their daily routine. Eat breakfast, walk the dog and watch the eagles. "It is truly an amazing thing to experience," said Jim Cullis, regional manager with LandMar. "To see these majestic birds in the wild, especially a pair such as this, is worth the wait." Although the baby eaglet is always in the nest, the parents spend most of their time hunting. Eagles tend to build nests close to water – along the coast or near waterways – and Grand Haven offers both. "We always knew Grand Haven's location and proximity to major waterways were big selling points," said Cullis, "We just didn't realize nature felt the same way."

This is the first year the pair of bald eagles has chosen Grand Haven for its home, and we hope the pair will continue to visit us yearly. To see the bald eagles in action, click here.

THIRD CONSECUTIVE TAR HEEL TOUR PLAYED AT OLDFIELD
Okatie, S.C. – Former and future PGA TOUR players from all over the country played the Greg Norman-designed golf course at Oldfield in March. The Tour Players Golf Group (TPGG) sponsored the tournament and provided the $250,000 purse. This year’s winner, Paul Butler, shot a 67 in the final round to take home the top prize. TPGG lauded Oldfield Head Golf Pro Jon Hundley and his staff for putting together a successful tournament and a great course for the players. TPGG was started to help young professionals develop their golf games and finances to join the PGA TOUR.

NEW SHOPPING COMING SOON TO GRAND LANDINGS
Palm Coast, Fla. – The Town Center at Palm Coast, a multi-use development offering everything from parks and open space to shopping and casual dining, is under construction and slated for a grand opening in time for the 2008 holiday season. Located just minutes from Grand Landings, this shopping district will offer retail opportunities including a new prototype for SuperTarget, a Ross Dress, PetSmart, Linens-N-Things, Michael’s and TJ Maxx, among others.

"The new Town Center will fill the retail void that has left many area residents with few local options," said Cary Strzepek, project manager of Grand Landings. "And to have this beautiful shopping center just minutes from our front door is a definite advantage."

Extensive road improvements are being completed now and visitors can see the Town Center taking shape. "Not only will there be plenty of retail and dining opportunities, but the parks, paths and trails planned to link all of Town Center to the surrounding community will tie seamlessly into the grand lifestyle we envision for our future residents," said Strzepek.
