FRESHWATER OUTFITTERS CENTER OPENS AT OLDFIELD

Oldfield recently celebrated the grand opening of the new Freshwater Outfitters Center on Big Arrowhead Lake. “The Freshwater Outfitters Center, which is our last planned amenity at Oldfield, truly completes the club experience for our residents and members,” said Scott Stephens, vice president of sales and marketing at Oldfield. “This outstanding new facility symbolizes our ongoing commitment to delivering the ultimate experience to our members.”

The furnished structure is located in the community’s final phase of development, which includes 106 homesites located around two scenic lakes. Designed as a low-density community, Oldfield will have only 543 homesites scattered throughout an ecologically diverse, 860-acre community when complete.

The Freshwater Outfitters Center is an extension of Oldfield’s ongoing commitment to conserving nature and presenting innovative educational programs for members, residents and guests.

The golf course at Oldfield, which was designed by PGA TOUR legend Greg Norman, has been designated a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System (ACSS), the educational division of Audubon International. The entire community earned the distinction of being named the world’s first Audubon International Neighborhood for Nature in recognition of Oldfield’s ongoing commitment to the environment.

“The new Outfitters Center is an excellent addition to Oldfield’s spectacular array of amenities,” said Marvin Bouknight, staff naturalist at Oldfield. “It was designed with programming in mind, from campfires and storytelling to fishing and kayaking programs.”

The new Outfitters Center features a screened pavilion with double fireplaces, as well as picnic tables, lakefront decks, oyster tables and an old-fashioned oyster roasting pit. The facility is available for community nature programs, fishing and kayaking and can be reserved for special events by Oldfield members.
