Springfield Residents Support the Troops
As part of Community Connection, Springfield residents spent some of their July 4 holiday collecting tons of treats to send to troops overseas. Orchard Park staff collected everything from toothbrushes, deodorant and hand sanitizer to beef jerky, chewing gum and treats for the canines serving our country. The items will be packed into care packages and sent to units from South Carolina stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Each care package will include cards made by the kids at Springfield and a photo of the homeowners who participated in the project. With the amount of treats collected in Springfield, residents will be able to send 15-20 care packages overseas.
