James F. Martin
Vice President
James Martin joined the Crescent Resources team in 2001. In his role as vice president of Crescent Communities, he is responsible for all facets of community development in the Charlotte, N.C., region, including securing entitlements, land planning, amenity planning and construction, builder relations, property association management and infrastructure development.
Prior to joining Crescent, Martin worked in Charlotte as a superintendent for both Pulte Homes and Shea Homes, and as a project manager for Kingswood Homes. Martin was named the Murray B. White Preservationist of the Year by the York County, S.C., Regional Chamber in 2007, and he is a member of the Urban Land Institute. Additionally, he is a licensed general contractor and real estate broker in North Carolina.
A member of Lucia Baptist Church in Stanley, N.C., Martin builds wheelchair ramps for people in need through the church’s outreach ministry. He is also a past member of the Sally’s YMCA board of directors in Denver, N.C., and vice chairman of the East Lincoln Fire Department in Stanley.
A native of Charlotte, N.C., Martin graduated from UNC Charlotte with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
Crescent Resources is a real estate development company with interests throughout the southeastern United States. Established in 1969, the Charlotte-based company develops single-family, multifamily and resort residential communities. Crescent also owns and manages business and industrial parks and shopping centers.
